MAMAMOO's Solar took the stage at Star Plaza outside Hyundai Department Store's Sinchon branch at 6 p.m. on the 6th for her first solo busking show, a milestone that arrives 12 years after her debut. She used it to sing her new single "To My Twenties (Harmonica. Ha Rim)" live for the first time, six days before the official release.

The free outdoor set, staged in front of the U-PLEX entrance in Seoul, was built around closeness. Solar planned to sing and talk with the audience directly, and those who showed up heard the song before any streaming platform did.

A song for the decade behind her

"To My Twenties (Harmonica. Ha Rim)" looks back on the singer's twenties and offers comfort to anyone still working through theirs. Singer-songwriter Ha Rim plays harmonica on the track, so the arrangement pairs Solar's vocal with that warm, breathy instrument rather than leaning on a heavier production.

The promotion has matched that mood. On the 3rd, MAMAMOO's official social accounts posted a content series called "Today's Word," with retro props such as a diary, a messenger screen and an electronic dictionary. Short, reassuring lines from the new song were worked into the images, with an emphasis on rest and on putting yourself first.

Her first domestic solo release in 1 year 7 months

The single is Solar's first solo release in Korea since her second single "WANT," which came out in April last year, roughly 1 year and 7 months ago. She has moved between genres and concepts in her solo work, and this release trades that range for something quieter and more personal.

It arrives on all major music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 12th. After a busking debut this stripped-down, the harmonica-and-vocal live version may be the closest preview fans get of how the finished track feels.
