RESCENE Went From Crying on Treadmills to 100 Ad Deals and a 99-Pyeong Dorm

RESCENE's special episode of MBC's Jeon Chamsi painted a vivid picture of a group whose year has changed almost faster than they can process it: 100 incoming ad offers, a massive new dorm, a confirmed year-end stage, and a comeback before 2025 wraps up. The members were open about the harder road that got them here, including one moment where member Won-i persuaded a then-discouraged Mei not to quit, by showing up at her parents' home.

RESCENE's appearance on MBC's Jeon Chamsi (short for Jeonjijeokin Chamgyeon Sijeom, a celebrity management reality show) this past weekend landed like a proper document of a group in the middle of the most consequential stretch of their career. The numbers alone set the tone: 100 incoming advertising offers, a brand ranking where every member placed first for July, and a new dorm clocking in at 99 pyeong (roughly 3,270 square feet), five bedrooms, and three bathrooms.

Host Yang Se-chan flagged the 100-ad figure first, visibly stunned, and co-host Hong Hyeon-hee followed with the brand ranking news. What made the moment land was the members' reaction: Won-i said she was "being careful not to catch celebrity disease," then pulled a mock-stern face while insisting the group needed to maintain discipline. Mei kept it simpler: "I won't lose my original mindset." Both said it with the kind of self-aware humor that suggests they know exactly how the moment reads, and mean it anyway.

The dorm reveal drew its own gasps. Manager Kim Hye-su mentioned that Won-i had guessed the new place was around 67 pyeong, already generous, and clarified it was actually 99. The previous dorm footage, which showed the group living in cheerfully chaotic close quarters, had been part of what made their earlier Jeon Chamsi appearance go viral in the first place. The upgrade is, in its own way, a timeline of the past few months.

The episode also carried heavier material. Member Mei opened up about her trainee years, saying there were moments when she couldn't see a future and seriously considered leaving the group. Even after the agency's CEO and a director tried to talk her out of it, she wasn't fully convinced. What turned things around was Won-i, who went as far as visiting Mei's parents at home to make the case in person. It's the kind of story that tends to reframe how you watch a group perform.

The CEO also spoke about the casting process, admitting he still finds it remarkable that the members chose his company. Won-i reflected on her own hesitation, saying she used to think becoming an idol was only possible if your family had money. Finding someone who believed in her before she fully believed in herself, she said, changed everything.

On the music side, the episode confirmed that a new RESCENE comeback is coming before the end of the year. Manager Kim described the team as preparing "sincerely, as always," and Minami added that the quality would be immediately apparent. More specifically, the group revealed they are currently working on an arrangement for a year-end stage appearance, their first since debuting three years ago. Won-i and the others described watching past year-end showcases from gym treadmills, running and crying simultaneously. The line got a laugh, but it was clearly not entirely a joke.

RESCENE first broke through on the strength of a viral clip from Geoje, then rode a reverse-chart run with "Love Attack" before their cover of KARA's "Pretty Girl" pushed them firmly into the mainstream, including three music show wins during the current promotions cycle. The Jeon Chamsi team noted that the group's first episode drove the show to its highest trending position, and that the show held the top spot the following week even without RESCENE appearing. That kind of residual pull is exactly what 100 ad offers looks like before it becomes 100 ad offers.
