RESCENE Wins First Music Show #1 With 'Pretty Girl' and the Momentum Is Very Real

RESCENE claimed their first music show #1 win at SBS Life's THE SHOW during promotions for remake single Pretty Girl, a milestone the five-member group had been building toward since their viral reverse-charting run earlier this year.

The group (Wonyi, Liv, Minami, May, Jena) made their comeback on the 8th and moved through all three major music programs: THE SHOW, KBS2's Music Bank, and SBS's Inkigayo. Beyond the new single, they staged special performances of 'LOVE ATTACK' and 'Deja Vu', leaning hard into their identity as a reverse-chart act. The crowd apparently approved.

On THE SHOW, they also served as special MCs, which is either a vote of confidence from the producers or a convenient way to get more screen time. Either way, the group handled it smoothly, adding another line to a resume that's been filling up fast.

The chart numbers are the real argument. Pretty Girl hit #1 on Melon's Hot100, peaked at #4 on Melon's Top100, charted at #7 on Bugs' daily chart, and sat at #6 on FLO. At the same time, 'LOVE ATTACK', the title track from their debut mini-album SCENEDROME (2024), which went viral through reverse-charting months after release, was still holding #1 positions on both Melon and Bugs' daily charts. Two songs. Two different moments. Both charting at the top simultaneously.

That combination is what separates RESCENE's current run from a standard comeback cycle. Reverse-charting success can be a fluke; turning it into sustained streaming numbers on a new release is harder. The timing is suspicious only in a good way: Pretty Girl dropped at exactly the moment the group had enough goodwill from LOVE ATTACK to guarantee ears, and the single performed well enough to justify the bet.

With Pretty Girl promotions now wrapped, RESCENE has positioned themselves as one of the more credible 5th-generation girl groups to watch. What they do next will determine whether this is a peak or just a step.
