SEVENTEEN's Chinese member Jun is expanding his acting portfolio with a new film role in China. Pledis Entertainment confirmed on September 9 that he has been cast in Give Me Summer Vacation Again, a Chinese feature that centers on adult characters revisiting a summer they can never return to, tracing one protagonist's journey from letting go of the past to embracing something new.

Jun plays Jin Zugang, a university student working a part-time job at a photography studio. It is a quieter, more grounded character type than the festival-circuit work he drew attention to last year.

A track record that backs the casting

His previous Chinese film, Pao Feng Zhui Ying, is the more telling data point. That project was selected for both the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival, two screenings that carry real industry weight, and Jun received a supporting actor nomination at the Dazhong Dianying Baihua Awards, one of China's most prominent mainstream film prizes.

For an idol-actor, those are not courtesy invitations. Festival selections and award nominations are evaluated independently of an artist's music career, which makes Jun's record in China a credible acting credential rather than a promotional footnote.

Jun has been steadily building a dual career across film and drama projects in China alongside his work with SEVENTEEN. Give Me Summer Vacation Again is the next step in that build. Whether it reaches the festival circuit the way Pao Feng Zhui Ying did will be the thing to watch when it releases.
