Stray Kids opened STRAYCITY in Bogotá, Colombia today, launching a brand-new music festival that literally carries their name across three South American cities over the course of the month.

JYP Entertainment and Live Nation co-produced the festival with Stray Kids as its headliner and organizing concept. It is a significant step beyond a standard tour: STRAYCITY is a branded event built around the group, placing them in the same conversation as artists who have historically had enough pull to anchor a festival rather than simply appear at one.

After Bogotá, the festival moves to Buenos Aires, Argentina on the 14th and 15th, then closes out in Mexico City, Mexico on the 25th and 26th. NEXZ and local artists are also on the lineup, giving each stop a regional flavor alongside the K-pop headliner.

For context, Stray Kids have been building toward this kind of festival presence for a few years. They played Lollapalooza Chicago in 2024 and The Governors Ball in New York earlier this year, both as invited acts on someone else's stage. STRAYCITY flips that dynamic entirely.

A record at Rock in Rio

Sandwiched between the Bogotá opener and the Buenos Aires dates is arguably the bigger headline: on the 11th, Stray Kids perform at Rock in Rio as the first K-pop act to ever headline the festival. Rock in Rio, which has been running since 1985, draws hundreds of thousands of attendees over multiple weekends and typically reserves its headliner slots for globally established rock and pop acts. Stray Kids claiming that slot is the kind of milestone that tends to look more significant in hindsight than it does in the moment.

The group arrives in Latin America having already set a striking record on the Billboard 200, with nine consecutive number-one albums on that chart. Last year's Latin American stadium tour gave them an established fanbase across the region, and STRAYCITY looks designed to deepen that relationship rather than introduce them to new audiences from scratch. At this point, STAYs in South America already know the catalog well enough to sing along from the floor of a festival field.
