Stray Kids' Felix Donates 300 Million KRW on His Birthday to Help Sick Kids

Stray Kids member Felix turned his birthday into a giving day, donating a total of 300 million KRW to four organizations on September 15, according to JYP Entertainment.

The funds were split across two hospitals and two nonprofits. Samsung Seoul Hospital and Seoul National University Children's Hospital each received 100 million KRW, while Books International and UNICEF Korea each received 50 million KRW. The money is earmarked for pediatric and adolescent cancer treatment costs, a cultural education program that produces picture books in children's mother tongues, and emergency relief for the Nepal floods.

"I hope each child's day is filled with clear hope instead of worry," Felix said in a statement released by JYP. "I hope this becomes a small but warm force for their precious todays and tomorrows."

A consistent record of giving

This donation is the latest in a pattern Felix has built over several years. He has previously supported nutritional aid and clean water access for children in Laos, domestic breakfast programs for at-risk youth in South Korea, and sponsorships for children who serve as family caregivers. He has also joined his Stray Kids bandmates in contributing to wildfire and fire-disaster recovery efforts.

The birthday gift lands while the group is mid-tour. Later the same day, local time, Stray Kids performed in Buenos Aires, Argentina as part of STRAYCITY, their self-produced festival series. The group's world tour RUN IT continues from there. For Felix, the numbers worth noting are not just the ticket counts: 300 million KRW donated before the first encore has played is the kind of early indicator that tells you something about how an artist plans to use the platform they have built.
