T.O.P's 20-Year Fansite Shuts Down 8 Days After His Relationship Went Public
Choidot, T.O.P's oldest fansite running since his 2006 debut, shut down on the 10th, just eight days after he confirmed dating actress Nana. The site accused T.O.P and agency TOPSPOT PICTURES of exploiting fan labor while ignoring their concerns.

Eight days. That's how long it took for T.O.P's longest-running fansite to hit its limit.
Choidot (최승현닷컴), which has operated since T.O.P's BIGBANG debut in 2006, announced its closure on the 10th via its official channels. The timing, coming just over a week after T.O.P confirmed his relationship with actress Nana on the 2nd, has drawn obvious comparisons. The site was direct about not wanting to be misread: this isn't about the girlfriend.

What the fansite actually said
"We can no longer overlook T.O.P and TOPSPOT PICTURES' avoidance of reality, evasion of responsibility, and their attitude of taking fans' dedication for granted," the closure statement read. The grievances it listed go back well before any romance announcement: no official communication channels during solo activities, fan sites forced to handle overseas fan inquiries and operational logistics that should have fallen to the agency, and promotion for T.O.P's solo album Multiple Perspectives that leaned heavily on volunteer fan labor.
"The album was described as being 'for the fans,' but the stages and communication fans most wanted and waited for were nowhere near sufficient," they wrote. "Promotion, fan support, and a significant portion of the actual administrative work were left to the voluntary efforts of a private fan site."
The statement's sharpest line was directed at T.O.P personally: "We hope you don't isolate yourself among people who only tell you what you want to hear. Uncomfortable realities don't disappear just because you look away from them. We believed your promise to give back to the fans who loved you as you grew up. What we received in return was not gratitude but resentment."

The exhibition that collapsed first
The closure didn't come out of nowhere. Choidot had been planning an exhibition tied to Multiple Perspectives scheduled for later this month. After T.O.P confirmed his relationship with Nana on the 2nd, reservation cancellations followed immediately and the event became unviable.
The fansite says TOPSPOT PICTURES' response to that situation made things worse. Rather than engaging with the underlying communication failures the site had flagged, the agency's focus, in Choidot's telling, landed on the fact that the site had publicly disclosed its reservation numbers. The cancellations were being framed externally as fans throwing a tantrum over a celebrity dating. Choidot rejected that characterization directly: the exhibition collapsed due to low participation rates and operating costs that were no longer manageable, and the reasons for that trace back to years of neglect, not a single announcement.

TOPSPOT PICTURES responds
With the closure generating significant attention, TOPSPOT PICTURES posted a response on the 10th. "We sincerely apologize for causing disappointment and frustration due to insufficient communication about activities and updates," the agency wrote. "We will review our methods of communicating with fans and work to improve."
Choidot, for its part, closed with a warning: any party that distorts the facts or directs malicious threats at the site will be met with documented evidence. "We will respond clearly, one by one, based on the materials and records we have retained."
T.O.P and Nana had confirmed their relationship on the 2nd, saying they met during a music video shoot and became a couple in June. Twenty years of fan infrastructure lasted eight more days.
