WHIB Drop Second Mini-Album CHERRY PIE Seven Months After Debut

WHIB released their second mini-album, CHERRY PIE, on the evening of August 5, roughly seven months after their debut project ROCK THE NATION arrived in January. The five-track record is the group's most collaborative effort yet, with members Junmin, Haseung, and Yugeon among the songwriting credits.

The title track shares its name with the album and pairs an addictive melody with a sharp, rhythmic beat. The accompanying performance concept centers on a visual built around sharing a pie and topping it with cherries, which gives the choreography a specific, theatrical texture that sets it apart from a straightforward stage show.

Perhaps the most anticipated inclusion is Make It, an unreleased track that WHIB first performed at their debut showcase. Requests for an official release have been consistent ever since, and the group has finally answered them here. Also on the tracklist is Can't Stop=Not Found, co-written by Junmin, Haseung, and Yugeon, signaling a growing investment in shaping their own sound.

Member Yugeon described the seven-month gap as productive rather than quiet. "The members worked hard to improve individually during the break," he said, "and talking so much with each other while preparing the album naturally strengthened our teamwork."

Haseung was direct about what the group wants from this release. "Through this comeback, I want us to earn the label of being versatile," he said, citing a Korean expression that translates roughly to 'eight-colored bird,' meaning an artist capable of many different looks and moods. He also named a music show number-one ranking and stronger digital chart performance as concrete targets.

The group described the shift in intent between their first and second releases plainly: if ROCK THE NATION was about proving themselves, CHERRY PIE is about enjoying the process alongside their fans. That framing, modest and forward-looking at once, is a reasonable place for a group still in their first year to stand.
