In episode 3 of tvN's My Guilty Human, airing today (the 26th), Yim Si-wan's character walks into the columbarium of the secretary he is suspected of killing and pays his respects with a calm face. The scene is built to unsettle, and it lands on the one person who knows how a real murder investigation usually looks.

Yoon Yi-joon, a third-generation chaebol heir and executive director on a task force at Taekang Group, becomes the prime suspect after his secretary Han Eun-young (Jung Yu-min) is found dead in his office following an argument. He visits the columbarium with his personal assistant Kang Jae-hee (Seol In-ah), who is secretly a detective. She went undercover as a man to interview for the assistant job.

Kang Jae-hee is thrown by what she sees. In her investigative experience, a killer mourning the victim is hard to understand, so the moment leaves open two readings: sincere grief from an innocent man, or the behavior of a suspect whose mind she can't read.

A suspect who never flinches

Yoon Yi-joon has stayed composed from the start. When a detective pressed him in questioning, he asked back, "Do you really think I killed her?" When Kang Jae-hee came to the interview in disguise, he asked whether she had ever killed anyone. It's an icy line, and Yim Si-wan plays this kind of unreadable calm well, so the columbarium visit fits the pattern while still complicating it.

Early ratings

The drama has started strongly. Its October 19 premiere drew a 5.6% nationwide rating on paid platforms (Nielsen Korea), the top spot among cable and general-programming channels in its time slot. Among viewers aged 20 to 49, it ranked first across all channels in the slot, terrestrial networks included. Episode 2 followed with 4.7%, holding first place among cable and general-programming channels for a second straight week.

Episode 3 of My Guilty Human airs today at 8:50 p.m. KST on tvN. International viewers can watch on Amazon Prime Video.
