Yoon Yeo-jeong at 79 Covers W Korea in Leather and Sheer, And Looks Like This
W Korea named Yoon Yeo-jeong the first subject of its 2026 Best Performances series, calling her a singular presence whose 60-year career alone makes her exceptional. The editorial photos, shared on September 7, show the 79-year-old actress in a brown cropped leather jacket and a sheer-accented T-shirt styled with a blue skirt.

W Korea posted the first entry in its 2026 Best Performances series on the 7th, and the subject is Yoon Yeo-jeong, 79 years old and dressed in a brown cropped leather jacket with a voluminous high-neck collar that exposes just enough of the collarbone to read as pointed rather than incidental. The magazine's caption called her "an actor who has renewed herself over 60 years" and "an already exceptional and singular presence by virtue of her life alone."

The leather shot is the stronger of the two looks. The high collar adds structure without softening anything, and the crop length keeps it from tipping into costume. A second image takes a different register entirely: a short-sleeved T-shirt with sheer white detailing, matched with a blue skirt, the whole thing landing as quietly modern rather than conspicuously fashion-forward. Layered rings and a wristwatch carry the accessories, which is the right call. The detail that gives it away is how little is being asked to do too much.
Yoon has spent the last several years building a genuinely international career rather than coasting on her 2021 Academy Award win for Minari. She appeared in both seasons of the Apple TV+ drama Pachinko, in 2022 and 2024 respectively, playing a role that required her to hold an entire generational arc on screen. Last September, she appeared in the Hollywood film The Wedding Banquet as a Korean grandmother named Ja-young. This past April, she took on the role of Chairman Park in the Netflix series BEEF Season 2.
She was born in 1947. The editorial does not look like an act of defiance against her age, which is probably the point. It looks like a working actress who knows exactly what she is doing in front of a camera after six decades of practice.
