A photo labeled "Jungkook unedited" spread across Korean online communities this week, showing enlarged pores, bumpy texture and an oily sheen. It was fake: BTS haters had run a real image through Photoshop to make his skin look worse, a trick known in Korea as "reverse retouching."

The source image is a close-up side profile of Jungkook at an airport security checkpoint, mask pulled down during the check. Posted side by side, the left version is the doctored one, cratered and blotchy. The right shows the smooth, porcelain-like skin he had in video footage from the same day. The gap between the two is the giveaway.

Fans were not subtle about it. Reactions ranged from "I can only laugh" to "Haters have to be hardworking to pull this off" and "How much effort did they put into that?" One joked that they'd happily take orange-peel skin for a single day if it came with his face. Others kept it blunt: "Give it a rest," and "Honestly, who doesn't have pores?" One commenter asked whether HYBE would have left it alone if the skin had really looked like that, and another suggested the edit came from jealousy. Some fans called the whole thing a "frenzied obsession."

The mockery is the healthy part of the response. Distorting an original photo to demean someone's looks is still harassment, just with a layer filter on top.

RM's request from Peru

The timing is messy, because BTS is also dealing with a different kind of fan problem on the world tour. On the 8th, RM wrote on the group's official fan platform that the members are in Peru and that people camping outside their hotel all day were making life hard for members and staff. He said the noise reaches the rooms, so nobody is sleeping well.

He added that the crowd is a nuisance to other hotel guests, and that lost sleep affects performances. He asked fans not to wait outside hotels in the next stops: Chile, Brazil, Argentina, and later several Asian countries. "Please," he finished.

Two stories, one theme: attention that has stopped being about the music. HYBE has not commented on the doctored photo in the reports available.
