Chungha Turns 30 With No House, No Car, and No Regrets About It

Singer Chungha appeared on the September 6th episode of SBS's My Ugly Duckling and offered an unexpectedly candid account of what turning 30 actually looks like for her. It landed, as these moments tend to on the show, somewhere between comedy and confession.

My Ugly Duckling is a long-running SBS variety program built around celebrity children being observed by a panel of older women, the format tends to draw out personal disclosures that a standard interview would never reach.

What she said

Host Seo Janghoon set up the conversation directly: he had heard that Chungha, despite entering her thirties, still didn't have a home, a car, or any significant relationship experience, things many people assume will be in place by that age. Chungha responded by first asking, mock-dramatically, whether she could take a moment to cry, then confirming it.
