IVE's Jang Wonyoung Caught Dozing Mid-Broadcast on Inkigayo After 50-Minute Sleep Past

During IVE's live segment on SBS's Inkigayo on the 25th, Jang Wonyoung was caught with her eyes closed, apparently dozing off, while bandmate An Yujin demonstrated a piece of choreography. The brief moment has fans worrying about how little rest she gets.

IVE were on the show to promote their new song "Looks Can Kill." Before the performance, the members chatted with the hosts about the track, and Yujin showed part of the choreography for her section. Wonyoung, standing behind her, shut her eyes for a moment. She recovered almost immediately, clapped along and went back to her usual bright, energetic self.

It was only a second or two on screen, but viewers noticed.

Not the first sleepy moment

This isn't the first time Wonyoung has drawn attention for looking tired. A clip from a domestic awards ceremony went viral earlier, in which she stared blankly ahead; netizens joked that she looked like a student trying to stay awake in class. It became known as her "sleepy moment."

Her schedule has also been on display before. On Kang Minkyung's YouTube channel, she shared a glimpse of a relentless stretch. "I can't believe it. I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow night," she said, and a staff member replied that they were just as shocked when they saw the schedule. The night before, she had filmed a music video until 3:00 AM and slept only about 50 minutes. She then went straight into filming the web variety show Jeonggwaja, ate at home, packed, and headed to the airport for the Berlin flight.

Between IVE's group promotions, individual endorsements and a steady run of public events, almost any unguarded moment of hers gets noticed.

Rest days, in her own words

On a recent episode of the YouTube channel Today's Joo Woo-jae (released on the 23rd), Wonyoung described how she spends the rare day off. She said she doesn't get many, but in Korea she likes to wake up, exercise and then get a massage. She also called herself a dessert person these days, saying she barely eats regular meals lately. When host Joo Woo-jae voiced concern about her health, she said that feeling good matters too and that she prefers pretty, sweet food over meal breads. She added that she loves fine dining and enjoys contacting chefs at good restaurants to eat with friends, calling it both her pleasure and her healing.

Joo had expected a more disciplined routine and remarked that she rests more leisurely than he thought. Wonyoung said she would love to rest at ease, but the day is gone before she knows it.
