RIIZE Drop Insomnia at Midnight, and It's the Group's Most Vocal-Driven Song Yet
RIIZE return at midnight on the 26th with Insomnia, an acoustic pop single built on six vocals instead of performance. The members detail the new challenges, from vocal lessons to a drama-style music video.

RIIZE will release the new single Insomnia at 12 a.m. on the 26th, SM Entertainment announced on the 25th, and it is a song the group says leans entirely on vocals rather than performance. It is an acoustic pop track with a lonely mood, carried by the voices of all six members.
The song follows thoughts of someone that grow clearer as the night deepens, and the tangle of feelings that spreads out from them. RIIZE sing it calmly, without pushing the emotion too hard.
A sound the group hasn't tried before
Members say the track is unlike anything RIIZE have released, and because it asks them to win on vocals instead of choreography, they put their energy into conveying emotion.
Shotaro described taking vocal and voice-projection lessons while paying attention to expression, tone and even his rap part. There are harmony sections too, so the members practiced balancing their voices against one another. "I felt proud, because it seemed like we took on a new challenge through this process," he said.
Sungchan said the demo's gentle but moving warmth won him over the first time he heard it. "I thought we had to finish this properly with the members," he said. Because the delicate texture of the vocals has to come through over the acoustic rhythm, he focused on tone control and intonation so that the weight and emotional line of each lyric would land.
Hopes for the song
Anton said he hopes it becomes a song everyone remembers for a long time. "I think music has the power to let you feel the memories and emotions of a particular time again," he said, adding that he hopes hearing Insomnia years from now will naturally bring back the moments and memories of 2026.
Sohee said she wants it to be the track that shows off RIIZE's vocals at their best, the one people think of first when they think of the group's singing. She hopes it reaches not only Brices, the fandom, but the wider public as well.
Acting through the music video
The music video is produced in a drama-tie format, a story-driven style, and the members put real effort into emotional acting to convey the song's wistfulness.
Eunseok named the shoot as his most memorable part. His character had many scenes where emotion had to come across through his eyes alone. It made him nervous as a new challenge, he said, but it also gave him a different kind of experience.
