SEVENTEEN's Hoshi Out of Army Performances After Complete ACL Rupture

SEVENTEEN's Hoshi announced on the 12th that he tore his anterior cruciate ligament while rehearsing with the Army Ground Forces performance team, a complete rupture, not a partial one.

He broke the news himself on Weverse, writing that he injured his knee during practice and underwent examination, only to receive the ACL diagnosis. Surgery is now scheduled, and recovery will keep him off the stage for the foreseeable future.

The injury means he will miss two events he had been working toward: a taekwondo demonstration team appearance and the Ground Forces Festival. Both were already on the calendar. Hoshi said he had been training hard for both and described his disappointment at having to sit them out, adding that he felt especially sorry toward the Carats (SEVENTEEN's fandom) who had been looking forward to seeing him perform.

He was careful, though, not to make the post entirely about himself. He specifically asked fans to cheer for the taekwondo demo team and for fellow SEVENTEEN member Woozi (Jihoon), who will still participate in the Ground Forces performance team's stage, using the member's nickname Jihun in the original post.

Hoshi closed by promising to focus on treatment and recovery and to return as quickly and as healthily as possible. Pledis Entertainment has not issued a separate statement, and no timeline for his return to civilian life has been given.

ACL tears typically require six to nine months of recovery after surgery, which complicates the picture for Hoshi's return to SEVENTEEN activities once his military service concludes. For now, Carats are being asked to redirect their energy toward his teammates.
