Hyoyeon Claps Back at Sooyoung's Shade Ahead of Her Jeon Cham Si Debut

When Hyoyeon told her Girls' Generation members she was joining the cast of Jeon Cham Si (literally All-Knowing Married Couple's Perspective, MBC's celebrity management reality show), Sooyoung had questions. Specifically: "That's a show for famous people, why are you going on it?"

Hyoyeon's response, delivered to the Jeon Cham Si cameras with the energy of someone who has known Sooyoung for two decades, was a bleeped-out one-word verdict on that comment. The exchange, revealed in a preview MBC uploaded to YouTube on the 30th, is exactly the kind of unfiltered member dynamic Girls' Generation fans have always loved about this group.

Life in the dorm, 19 years on

The preview doesn't stop at the Sooyoung moment. Hyoyeon's manager also shared that she has continued living in the Girls' Generation dorm for 19 years, a detail that says something real about how she has chosen to structure her life in an industry where most idols move out long after debut. The housekeeper who has worked at the dorm for 21 years, since Hyoyeon was in high school, put it plainly: "You're like a daughter to me. If you ever quit, I'll quit too."

It's a small, warm moment that grounds the episode in something more personal than the usual celebrity-management format.

HRS debuts on the same day

The preview also offers a glimpse behind the scenes of a planning meeting for Hyorisu (효리수), the newly formed Girls' Generation sub-unit now officially named Girls' Generation-HRS, made up of Hyoyeon, Rino Satsuki (Luna), and Sooyoung. In a fitting coincidence, HRS released their first digital single Skibidi on August 31, the same day the preview dropped, marking the unit's official debut. The release includes two tracks: the title song Skibidi and a b-side called Lowkey In Love.
