How a 2013 B-side found a new audience

The song's second life is almost entirely a short-form story. Creators on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels have been using the track as background audio for a wave of short clips, the kind of sound-driven challenge cycle that tends to compound quickly once a song gets enough early placements. On Shazam, it reached #1 in both South Korea and Vietnam, and also charted in Japan, Thailand, China, and Singapore. That kind of broad regional footprint, for a 13-year-old Korean pop track with no accompanying promotional push, is a real indicator of organic spread rather than any coordinated campaign.

Reunion news adds another layer

The viral timing lands with a little extra weight given what's happening off the charts. All four original members, Hyeyeon, Yuji, Dahye, and Haeryung, are reportedly set to come together again as a complete lineup. BESTie debuted in 2013 with Doki Doki and followed it with a run of bright, energetic releases including THANK U VERY MUCH, Hot Baby, and Excuse Me, building a fanbase around their strong vocals and high-energy performances. The group never made a dramatic exit from the industry, but a full four-member reunion has been a long time coming.
