BLACKPINK and Baby Monster Drive YG’s Performance Videos to 7 Billion Views
YG Entertainment has announced that performance videos featuring BLACKPINK and Baby Monster have collectively surpassed 7 billion views. This milestone highlights the crucial role of choreography in K-pop's global appeal.

YG Entertainment recently revealed that its artists' performance videos, including those from BLACKPINK and Baby Monster, have amassed a staggering 7 billion cumulative views. This remarkable achievement underscores the immense popularity of K-pop at a global scale, extending beyond official music videos to include captivating choreography displays.

Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has not only produced visually striking music videos but also consistently shared live and solo performance videos that have played a vital role in establishing them as global superstars. These performance videos alone have garnered hundreds of millions of views, contributing to the group's official YouTube channel surpassing 100 million subscribers.
YG Entertainment commented on this success, stating, "In K-pop, performance is a core element that defines an artist's identity alongside their music. While traditional practice videos focus primarily on movements and formations, we have aimed to highlight the artistry of choreography in a way that makes it an area of appreciation in its own right."
The company also highlighted that its approach to performance-centered content is demonstrating significant competitiveness in the global market. YG's leading producer, Yang Hyun-suk, has been instrumental in directing everything from choreographic adjustments to stage set designs and video editing. With a rich history as a dancer before debuting with Seo Taiji and Boys in 1992, Yang has contributed to the creation of iconic dances for flagship songs from BIGBANG and 2NE1.
YG emphasized that their philosophy is rooted in "completing performances that harmonize perfectly with the music," and they remain committed to elevating the artistry of their upcoming artists, including Treasure and Baby Monster, through high-quality choreography. Their continuous efforts aim to ensure that new talent embodies the same level of excellence that YG's established artists are known for.
With these impressive stats, YG Entertainment sets a standard in merging music and performance, creating a viewing experience that resonates on multiple levels for audiences worldwide.
