NewJeans' How Sweet has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify, with ADOR confirming on July 30 that the track had logged exactly 300,262,0152 plays as of July 25. That figure makes it the ninth NewJeans song to cross the 300 million mark, joining earlier milestones set by Ditto and Super Shy, among others.

Released in May 2024, How Sweet built its fanbase on a Miami bass-influenced sound: bouncy, rhythmically playful, with a hip-hop edge that felt a little more relaxed than some of the group's earlier releases. It's the kind of track that rewards repeat listening, which likely explains why the stream count has continued to climb well past its initial chart run.

The news lands just over a week after NewJeans marked their fourth debut anniversary on July 22, giving fans two reasons to revisit the discography in the same stretch.

In other K-pop news this week, The Pinkfong Company announced it is moving into the virtual artist space using its Moon Shark (Moonshark) IP. The company is appearing at the 2026 Seoul Illustration Fair at COEX from July 30 to August 2 to introduce the character and debut interactive content and merchandise.

Moon Shark is a spinoff of the Baby Shark universe, the most-viewed YouTube video in the world, and follows a shark princess named Sid who leaves her underwater kingdom to pursue a dream of becoming an idol. The Pinkfong Company plans to develop the IP into short-form videos and music video content, effectively building a virtual idol around the character.

Finally, SM Entertainment's WayV will release their eighth mini album, Vision Wings, on August 10. It will be the group's first new release in about eight months, following a winter special album in December 2024.

Vision Wings includes seven tracks, among them the title song 연 (Vision Wings) in both Chinese and English versions. WayV will also hold their concert tour BORN THIS WAY at KBS Arena in Seoul's Gangseo district on September 12 and 13.
