Three Dating Rumors in Six Years: Yoo Hye-won Resurfaces After Seungri's Marriage News

Former BIGBANG member Seungri (born Lee Seung-hyun, 36) has registered his marriage to a non-celebrity woman in her 20s, and she is expecting a baby early next year. That news, which surfaced on the 28th, has dragged a familiar name back into view: influencer Yoo Hye-won, linked to him in three separate dating rumors.

Seungri told a media outlet he has held no wedding and isn't considering one "at the moment."

Three rumors, never confirmed

The first came in 2018, when Taiwanese media published photos of the two embracing outside a hotel in the Netherlands. That was about three months before Seungri was named a central figure in the Burning Sun scandal.

The second arrived in 2020, when someone believed to be Yoo was spotted in the back seat of the car carrying Seungri to his military enlistment, reportedly with a dog thought to be hers.

The third followed his release in February 2023. He had served 1 year 6 months on nine charges, including procuring prostitution, and sightings of the pair on a trip to Thailand set off the talk again. Dispatch reported on them spending time at a luxury hotel in Bangkok. Fans and press had by then pinned the label "prison supporter" on her.

Yoo apologized at the time to people who sincerely liked her for the confusion. She said speculation and harsh comments were taking a mental toll. She never clearly said whether she and Seungri were dating. Later, she was also linked to basketball player Heo Woong in 2024, which both sides denied.

Where Yoo is now

Yoo works as a model-turned-influencer. Her feeds currently promote colored contact lenses, skincare products and discount events.

Last year she appeared on Mnet's dating show Couple Palace 2, where she spoke about wanting marriage. She said she had dated "bad guys" and "very popular guys," and wanted an ordinary relationship like everyone else. The rumors, she said, follow her "like a tag." She left the show voluntarily before the final choice and said she was preparing a color cosmetics and inner-beauty brand.

The timing of the resurfacing is not hers to control. Whether she comments on it is another matter, and so far there is no sign she has.
