SM Entertainment and SAMG Join Forces for K-Pop Animation Project, Set to Premiere in 2028
SM Entertainment has partnered with SAMG Entertainment to create a K-pop-themed animation. This collaborative project will target teenagers and young adults, with plans for a global OTT release in 2028.

SM Entertainment has entered a partnership with SAMG Entertainment to jointly produce a K-pop-themed animation series. This collaboration was announced on the 27th and is set to be titled Superhero Idol Project (tentative).

The animated series will consist of 13 episodes, each running for approximately 20 minutes. It combines the rich world of K-pop with engaging superhero narratives, targeting teenagers and young adults up to their thirties. The series is expected to be released globally on OTT platforms in 2028, marking a significant push into the animation sector for SM.
As part of the project, SM will take part in the planning and production of key songs, contributing to the singing and performance aspects as well. Both companies aim to develop an integrated IP business model that encompasses music, concerts, management, and video licensing, indicating their commitment to creating cross-media content that resonates with fans worldwide.
